A man is in hospital recovering from minor injuries after a fiery collision severed his car in two early Saturday morning in Vancouver.
Const. Jana McGuinness says police arrived near Cambie Street and McGuigan Avenue around 4 a.m. and found the man sitting close to a burning, high-end Audi.
She says the driver lost control and slammed into a pole after entering a curve as he travelled south on Cambie Street.
Investigators say the impact was so strong that the vehicle split in two and burst into flames.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash and an impaired driving investigation is underway.
