A second candlelight vigil will be held Tuesday night to honour a teenaged Good Samaritan who was murdered trying to break up a fight this weekend.

Jamie Kehoe, 18, was stabbed in the chest on a Surrey city bus on Friday night. Witnesses say a fight broke out between two women and the teen was injured when he tried to stop it. Kehoe's best friend also suffered stab wounds in the attack.

Police have no one in custody, despite a public plea for the suspects to come forward over the weekend.

Witnesses have told police a black man was involved in the fight and later took off running.

The boy's father is calling for people to meet at 128th Street and 72nd Ave. in Surrey at 7 p.m. Tuesday to "show how many people love this kid," Jay Kehoe wrote on his Facebook page.

Kehoe's grieving family held a candlelight vigil Sunday night near the site where he died.

A memorial honouring the slain teen is growing.

Kehoe's mother Tammy said her son was the type of kid who would always try to do the right thing.

"Jamie was protecting someone, stopping the fight from continuing. And this jerk comes and stabs him and takes his life? There are angry people out there, very angry people," she said.
