A Surrey, B.C. man has been charged with sex offences against six minors over the last two decades, and police believe there could be several more victims.

James Cardno, 46, was arrested and charged in March in connection with eight sex-related offences involving four children under the age of 16.

Since then, several other people have approached RCMP to say that they, too, were Cardno's victims. The complaints resulted in an additional five charges involving two victims under the age of 16.

The charges against Cardno include sexual interference, sexual exploitation, invitation to sexual touching, and making and possessing child pornography.

Police say they have images of several other young people they believe have come into contact with Cardno, but not all of them have been identified.

Police are not revealing whether the victims were girls or boys.

The alleged offences are believed to have happened in the Fraser Heights neighbourhood of Surrey and the area around King George Boulevard and 96 Avenue between 1995 and 2009.

Cardno has been released from custody until his next court date, and is living in the Fraser Heights area on conditions he have no contact with young people, including his alleged victims. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 9.

Anyone with information about Cardno or other alleged victims is asked to call Surrey RCMP.
