Sun Peaks Resort and Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort have ranked as top 20 ski destinations in Conde Naste Traveler's 2010 Ski Poll.

Whistler Blackcomb Ski Resort ranked number one in the poll, which judges resorts based on terrain and conditions, lifts and lines, after-ski activities, dining and local ambiance. Sun Peaks Resort, located near Kamloops, B.C., ranked second in Canada and 13th overall. Mont Tremblant, Que. came in at 14th place.

"Sun Peaks is honoured to be recognized with Whistler as the leading destinations in Canada," Christopher Nicolson, president of Tourism Sun Peaks, said in a press release.

Tourism Whistler is expecting the 2011 ski season to be busier than last year due to exposure from the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. This winter, Tourism BC joined forces with Whistler Blackcomb and Sun Peaks to launch a new marketing campaign that builds on the momentum of the games.

"Sun Peaks is known for its village design, reliable snow and expansive terrain spread over three mountains. But perhaps more importantly, visitors pick up on the genuine sense of welcome and hospitality of residents," Nicolson said.

This is the third year that Sun Peaks has rated amongst the top resorts in Conde Naste's annual poll.
