Vancouver police have arrested three men for allegedly following casino patrons home and robbing them with replica hand guns.

Police arrested 20-year-old Daniel Sheng Long Hoong, his 18-year-old brother William Wei Lun Hoong and Yan Wang, 30, last week.

Wang is known to police, the brothers are not.

The men, all Burnaby residents, face several charges including robbery with a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm and use of an imitation firearm.

The arrests came the day after two Vancouver residents were trailed from the River Rock Casino in Richmond to their home and robbed. Neither of the victims was injured.

Insp. Les Yeo said responding officers found valuable forensic evidence at the scene, but would not disclose what it was.

Yeo said the suspects tried to commit a similar robbery the next day, but were intercepted by police in a "tactical takedown."

"A decision was made to surprise the suspects at a location that wouldn't compromise the safety of the victim," he said. "The three men were taken into custody before they could complete their planned robbery."

The suspects were also caught on casino security cameras, Yeo said.
