The RCMP has cancelled an Amber Alert issued for a 12-year-old B.C. boy who was allegedly abducted on Sunday afternoon.

Investigators say Daniel Sturm was at his Chilliwack home with his grandparents at about 12:45 p.m. Sunday when three men forcibly entered and took him, spurring an alert that lasted six hours.

Cpl. Lea-Anne Dunlop said the grandparents suffered minor injuries during the incident, but Sturm was not harmed.

Police named Sturm's 34-year-old father Kenneth Daniel Morey, 56-year-old grandfather Kenneth John Morey and another relative, 17-year-old Adam Joseph Morey as possible suspects.

The captors fled the residence, located in the 46200-block of 2nd Avenue, in a white Honda Accord before transferring Sturm into a grey Accord.

Police later received a tip from the public that Sturm and his father were in a taxi cab in Langley. Officers located the cab at a gas station at around 6:30 p.m.

Sturm was safe, Dunlop said, and his father was taken into custody. No charges have been laid.
