Taser Cam could be coming to a police force near you.

Cameras have been mounted on police cruisers for years, and now they're being tried out on Tasers.

Ontario's Liberal government says it's considering the camera option as part of ongoing discussions about how to best use Tasers.

But RCMP in Kelowna, B.C. and Moncton, New Brunswick are already testing cameras that record Taser firings -- and so are city police in Ottawa.

The stun guns are supposed to shock people into submission without killing them.

But there's been a lot of controversy surrounding the devices, and, at times, the circumstances under which they've been used.

The highest profile case is that of Robert Dziekanski, who died after Mounties gave him five Taser jolts at Vancouver Airport in 2007.

The incident was recorded by a bystander and that video contradicted some statements made by the officers involved, leading to inquiries.

Last week, Dziekanski's mother received an apology from the Mounties and a financial settlement.
