A Burnaby, B.C., man has been charged in connection with a double homicide last year in Ontario.

In May 2009, the bodies of two men – Harjinder Singh Sandhu and Puneet Singh Chhina – were found in the trunk of a vehicle in Pickering, Ont.

Durham, Ont., police have said they believe the men were killed in Toronto.

Sandhu, a 28-year-old Brampton, Ont., resident, was the father of two small children. He was facing drug charges at the time of his murder.

Chhina, a 26-year-old Nepean, Ont., resident, had never been in trouble with police, according to authorities.

Vijay Singh, 29, was arrested in B.C. on Thursday and faces two counts of each of the following charges:

• First-degree murder

• Kidnapping

• Forcible confinement

• Using a firearm in commission of an indictable offence

Singh, who also resides in Toronto, was returned to Ontario where he appeared in court on Saturday.

John Le, 38, was arrested last month in connection with the case and faces the same charges.
