A Canadian helicopter pilot who brought about 70 kilograms of marijuana into northern Idaho faces nearly four years in prison.
The 46-month sentence was imposed Friday in U.S. District Court on 29-year-old Jeremy Snow of Kelowna, B.C. He pleaded guilty in June to a reduced charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Snow was arrested March 5 near Priest Lake, Idaho, in Operation Blade Runner, a U.S.-Canadian takedown of a drug-smuggling ring that had been operating for more than a year.
A helicopter pilot arrested earlier in northeastern Washington state, 24-year-old Samuel Lindsey-Brown of Revelstoke, B.C., committed suicide in the Spokane County Jail on Feb. 27.
Lindsey-Brown was caught in the Colville National Forest with 193 kilograms of marijuana.
