A 26-year-old Abbotsford resident has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of Ryan Saint-Ange last month.

Saint-Ange's body was found inside a home in the 27000-block of 56th Avenue just after midnight on Jan. 14. He was 21 years old.

On Wednesday, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team announced a murder charge had been approved against Shayne Vauthrin, a local with no criminal record who turned himself in to police on Sunday.

Police say they will not be providing any further information while the case is before the courts.

Vauthrin is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 24.
