A 61-year-old woman has been charged with second-degree murder after her husband was found dead in Richmond, B.C. last week.
RCMP were called to the 11900-block of Aztec Street at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 26 by a woman asking for medical help. Officers arrived to find Jo Anne Alexander and her husband John both in medical distress.
John was pronounced dead at the scene and Jo Anne was transported to hospital for treatment, Sgt. Jennifer Pound said in a release.
Jo Anne, who police described as conscious but incoherent, was arrested under the Mental Health Act. She has been ordered to undergo further forensic psychiatric evaluation.
Her next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 15.
Police say an autopsy determined the victim died from head injuries.
