Three Hells Angels associates charged with second-degree murder in connection with the June beating death of a Kelowna man were granted bail on Friday.
B.C. Supreme Court Judge Al Betton ruled that two brothers: Daniel Joseph McRae, 20, and Matthew Thomas McRae, 19, and Anson Lloyd Schell, 19, will be living effectively under house arrest and can only go out during the day for work, school or when accompanied by one of their parents.
They must also live with their parents, have no contact with the co-accused or any members or associates of organized crime and have no contact with the family of the man killed, Dain Phillips, 51.
Each McRae brother was released on a $75,000 surety, including a $10,000 cash deposit posted by their parents.
Schell was released on a $75,000 surety, including a $10,000 cash deposit put up by the McRae parents.
A court-ordered ban prohibits the publication of evidence heard at the hearing.
Police alleged in a news release issued in June that the McRae brothers and Schell were among a group of seven men who attacked Phillips and his sons on June 12, he died in hospital shortly after.
Three other men charged in the case, Norman Robert Cocks, his father Robert Charles Cocks and Robert Leonard Thomas remain in custody.
A seventh suspect, Thomas A. Vaughan is free on bail.
Last month he was released on a $100,000 surety -- of which $25,000 was a cash deposit -- and other conditions similar to those imposed on the McRae brothers and Schell.
All seven accused are expected to appear in court Aug. 25.
