Vancouver's police chief and B.C.'s premier are trying to highlight the good deeds that were done during the Stanley Cup riots.

Chief Jim Chu praised those who stood up to rioters or helped clean up the city the next day as "heroes."

Christy Clark says the government has set up an email account (heroes@gov.bc.ca) where the public can submit positive stories that occurred as the mob rampaged through the streets.

She says the province wants to find a way to honour such individuals in a "very public way."
