The parents of a young woman who disappeared from a party in central B.C. 10 days ago are pleading for witnesses to come forward and speak with police.

Madison Scott, 20, was last seen around 3 a.m. on May 28 at a party at Hogsback Lake, located about 25 kilometres south of Vanderhoof. Mounties recovered her tent and truck the next day.

None of the revellers interviewed by police so far recalled seeing Scott leave the party.

Her parents, Dawn and Eldon, issued a statement Tuesday asking for anyone with any information to call police.

"It doesn't matter how small or insignificant it might seem; call the RCMP and let them know what you know, heard or saw or think you might have seen," Dawn Scott said.

"There have been many instances where information comes to us second or third-hand and we are left trying to capture that information and get it to police."

Scott's parents say it is completely out of character for their daughter not to contact them or her friends. They described her as a "beautiful, caring and loving" person.

"She is a passionate 20-year-old young woman who loves sports and photography. She has a great sense of humour and she loves to socialize with family and friends," Dawn Scott said.

Police called off the official search for Scott last week, after rescuers scoured shorelines, trails and logging roads for four days and found no sign of the missing woman. However, volunteers have been returning to the lake every day to continue the search.

Mounties say the investigation remains a priority and 14 officers have been assigned to the case, but they believe there are witnesses who have not yet come forward.

Scott is described as 5-4 tall, white and 170 lbs. with red hair. She was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and blue jean Capri pants.
