Homicide police are investigating the death of a 43-year-old man in Surrey, B.C. Saturday night.

Mounties discovered his body while responding to a 911 call in the 7400-block of 140th Street at around 6:40 p.m.

"Initial evidence indicates that the male was the victim of a homicide," Sgt. Peter Thiessen said in a release.

The victim's name has not been released.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team was called to the scene, and will continue gathering evidence and canvassing the area Sunday.
