A B.C. Mountie has been placed on administrative duty while under investigation for impaired driving.

The RCMP say the investigation began after a single-vehicle crash in the early morning hours of April 10 in Chilliwack.

Cpl. Annie Linteau says the officer was off-duty and in his own vehicle at the time.

Linteau says there were no other vehicles involved and no injuries.

She says the officer is on desk duty until the outcome of the RCMP's criminal investigation, as well as an internal code-of-conduct review.

Linteau says the officer was also given a 90-day roadside licence suspension and saw his vehicle impounded for a month.
