The face of CTV National News is changing.

Current CTV national affairs correspondent Lisa LaFlamme has this hour been named the successor to Lloyd Robertson.

LaFlamme started at CTV in Kitchener-Waterloo, joining CTV's all news network as anchor in 1997. She was named co-host of Canada AM in 2001, joining CTV National News in 2003.

Since then, LaFlamme has covered virtually every major national and international story. From the September 11th attacks, to the American invasion of Iraq, to the shooting death of four Mounties in Mayorthorpe, Alta.

LaFlamme is a regular fill-in anchor for Robertson -- and will be the first woman to hold a full-time national news anchor position in English-speaking Canada.

CTV's Chief Anchor and Senior Editor Lloyd Robertson announced Thursday night that he will be stepping down from the anchor's chair sometime in the middle of 2011.
