The B.C. pub featured in the Oscar-winning Jodie Foster film "The Accused" has suffered extensive damage after an overnight fire.

Four fire battalions arrived at the Tidewaters Pub & Grill, under the Alex Fraser Bridge in Delta, around 2:30 a.m. Friday to find the building fully engulfed in flames.

Crews attempted to get into the building but were battled back by the flames. Crews used a long ladder to fight the blaze from the air once attempts from the ground failed.

Parts of the roof completely collapsed in the fire. The cause is not yet known.

At first light, fire investigators began sifting through the debris and began interviewing witnesses and the property's owners.

The pub, which sits on the banks of the Fraser River and used to be called The Sidetrack, was used for several months during the filming for 1988's "The Accused."

The courtroom drama, which stars Kelly McGillis as lawyer Kathryn Murphy and features Jodie Foster as a rape victim out for justice, nabbed Foster a 1990 Oscar for Best Actress.
