An Alberta man has now been charged with two counts of first degree murder for stabbing two men to death near Prince George, B.C., earlier this month.

Michael James Bartley, 36, has also been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault for stabbing a third victim, a 48-year-old woman.

The body of Owen Thompson, a 48-year-old Prince George man, was discovered at a farm in the Clear Lake Saw Mill area southwest of the city on March 17.

The female stabbing victim, found alongside Thompson, was flown to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Const. Gary Godwin told ctvbc.ca that she is still recovering from her wounds.

A day after the grisly discover, RCMP located the body of Darren Hala, 45, in the woods surrounding the farm.

Police say that Bartley was acquainted with all three victims. They have not yet assigned a motive for the murders.
