CTV reporter David Kincaid spent his summer going through something that thousands of British Columbians are facing - joint replacement surgery. It’s an intensely personal journey as people in pain struggle to get back their mobility -- and their lives. David learns to accept he's in a serious pain and needs help.
Tuesday
It's a major procedure as doctor's remove David's knee joint and replace it with a metal one. We'll take you inside the operating room.
Wednesday
David Kincaid’s knee replacement has been successful… so far. But there’s only so much medical science can do. Now it’s up to David to fight through the pain to get his new knee working.
Thursday
Three days post operation; David completes a series of exercises and climbs a flight of stairs. The physiotherapy, nurses, and doctor are all pleased and send him home a day early.
Friday
Now comes the hard part. Intensive physiotherapy proves to be pretty painful, but David is determined to get back on his feet. So he can get back to living an active life once again.
