Surrey, B.C. school teacher Sarwan Singh calls it a gift from God.
Measuring 2.36 metres - or seven feet, seven-and-three-quarter inches - Singh's lengthy beard has won him a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records
As reported by the Surrey North Delta Leader, Singh set a world record for the longest beard by any living person in front of about 200 people at Surrey's Akal Academy on Tuesday.
It was measured while Singh stood on a stool.
He is a married man with two children.
Still, Singh, has a lot of growing to do to catch up with the late Norwegian Hans Langseth. He holds the all-time record with a beard that measured 17.5 feet. Langseth died in 1927.
