Another Conservative candidate in the Oct. 14 election has been tripped up by old blog postings.

Ryan Warawa, who's running in Vancouver East, suggests in a 2004 blog post that Esquimalt-Juan de Fuca Liberal Keith Martin had ties to a former B.C. Liberal cabinet aide now on trial for corruption.

In the January 2004 post entitled Keith Martin: Basi Boys' Bitch, Warawa suggests Martin met David Basi around the time he left the newly amalgamated Conservative party and discussed joining the Liberals with him.

Warawa, whose father Mark Warawa is the Tory MP for Langley, B.C., also wonders if Basi offered to help buy Liberal party memberships to help Martin secure his nomination.

Martin confirms he met Basi once but says he has no political connection with him and describes the words in the blog posting as slanderous.

Warawa, whose campaign office says he is only a part-time candidate, was not immediately available for comment and his old blog posts can be found only through cached web pages.
