Police have arrested one man during an Olympic protest outside of Vancouver, B.C.'s Chinese consulate building.

Protestors blocked the entrance to the consulate office with a replica tank. Police say the man stuck his arm into a bucket of fresh concrete.

Vancouver Police arrested the American-born Tibetan -- who was dressed as a monk -- and removed the tank.

Some of the protestors are members of Students for a Free Tibet. The student group is an outspoken critic of Chinese policy in Tibet and the same group that hung a banner from the Great Wall of China last year.

The Students for a Free Tibet is active in more than 35 countries and has more than 650 high school, university and community chapters worldwide. It was founded in 1994.

The protest comes on the eve of the Olympic Games in Beijing.

Wednesday's protest coincided with one in Ottawa staged by groups that accuse China of heavy-handed rule in Tibet.
