Surrey police are investigating an overnight hit-and-run that killed a married couple.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 8400 block of 128th Street.

RCMP say a BMW struck a telephone pole after being rear-ended by a speeding Acura.

The Acura then side swiped a black Chevrolet Camaro, before flipping over.

Two men were seen fleeing the area shortly after.

Two passengers inside the BMW, a married couple, died at the scene.

The two other people in the BMW, the victims' two daughters, were rushed to hospital with serious injuries. They are expected to recover.

The names of the victims are being withheld at the family's request.

Const. Steven Randall of Surrey Traffic Services says speed was likely a factor in the crash.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Surrey detachment at 604-599-0502.
