The residents of a Kitsilano apartment building were evacuated for the second time in as many weeks after a fire spread up the side of the building early Wednesday morning.

Residents were evacuated but no one was injured after fire crews were called to the scene around 1 a.m.

The fire appears to have started in a garbage bin on the scaffolding beside the building, and travelled up three stories.

Just ten days ago, a man was found dead and an amateur drug lab was discovered on the third floor of the same building in the 2500 block of Balsam Street in Vancouver.

The hazardous materials team had been using the scaffolding to investigate the scene of the drug lab.
